Radiator cap for the RX7 was supposed to come today (the one on there is slightly leaky) .
Instead I got a maybe-stant-maybe-generic-chinesium radiator cap in a box which had a different part number than the sticker, which was not at all
what I ordered. It’s so tiny.
Supposedly another (correct) one will be here Thursday. Who wants to bet that it’s another maybe-10241 with a 10329 sticker on the box?

I went through 3 replacements before Amazon finally gave up, stopped offering replacements, and refunded me. On the bright side I have three, free generic radiator caps. On the downside I did not get the one I needed.
Still up on Amazon with my review being the only one. Hooray!

That’s what you get for not buying local. My Carquest down the road has it in stock for ~ $12.

Hmm, I ordered AC Delco stuff from Amazon before and it went just fine.
You did make sure Amazon.com was the seller, and there wasn’t a whole pile of other third-party sellers also listing as Prime, right?

Yeah for a fucking radiator cap. I should get my oil from junkyards too, then?

Yeah it’s from amazon. Someone messed up, I’ve ordered tons of parts from them before without issue so it’s probably just a fluke.

And it was literally half that from amazon. I’m in no rush, I’ll save $6 and use it for something else on the car. Or gas. When I can get this exact part locally for within 10% of the online price I’ll consider it.
I do buy lots of stuff locally, it’s usually when I need it in a timely manner or, as above, when it’s priced competitively.

It happens with Amazon. The vast majority of car parts I’ve gotten from them were correct. Then there was the one time I ordered two gallons of BMW smurf blood blue coolant for the E39 and they sent two indoor/outdoor thermometers instead. It was funny, but I knew there was problem before I even opened the box that wasn’t big enough for even one gallon of coolant. They did next day air me the coolant and I got to keep the thermometers. One of them is in my garage right now.

Be sure to grab some spark plugs while you're at it.

We both know they drain that out

There’s a reason it’s half the price.
Because shit like this or it’s counterfeit.

Wholesale on it’s probably like $7. Tell them you have a shop ;)
